For Maple’s services to be covered, the province must have public coverage of virtual telemedicine visits and criteria which align with our system.

We only charge a fee for our services when provincial health plans do not cover them. We’d love to be eligible for public coverage consistently across Canada and we’re working hard to ensure Maple is included in provincial coverage.

If you are eligible for public coverage on Maple, you must add the partnership coverage to your account before accessing these services. A valid health card is required to sign up.

In addition, we have partnerships in select provinces to increase access to care for specific patient populations, particularly those without a family physician:

  • British Columbia: The British Columbia Medical Services Plan (MSP) provides coverage for on-demand consultations with a general practitioner. Visits are available Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 2 pm PT. Patients must have a valid BC health card. Click here for more information.

  • Nova Scotia: VirtualCareNS provides coverage to residents in Nova Scotia. There are two options for patients: please click here for more information.

  • New Brunswick: Under eVisitNB, residents can speak with a physician or nurse practitioner on Maple, every day between 8am and 8pm AT. Click here for more information.

  • Ontario: We’re happy to now be able to offer OHIP-covered general practitioner consultations to residents of Ontario with a valid OHIP health card. To request a consultation, eligible patients must complete an intake. Please click the Contact Maple button below to learn more.

  • Prince Edward Island: HealthPEI provides coverage to residents who do not currently have a primary healthcare provider, and are waiting on the provincial registry. Patients will be invited by HealthPEI directly to participate. Visits are available Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 8am - 5pm AT, and Wednesday and Thursday from 8am - 8pm AT. Click here for more information.
