Accessing the MediOrbis second medical opinion speciality

A second medical opinion is a specialist's review of your medical case. It's especially helpful when you've received a complex diagnosis and want to fully understand your options. As a Maple member, you can access this service through MediOrbis for certain complex conditions.

Who can use this service?

This speciality is only available for Maple subscribers. You may qualify if you meet this criteria:

  • Received a diagnosis in the last six months

  • Have your care plan from your practitioner

  • Completed all required tests

  • Have copies of your test results and medical records

How it works

  1. Submit a visit request on Maple and select the Second medical opinion specialty. Our coordinators are available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm EST.

  2. If the coordinator confirms you're eligible, they'll walk you through setting up a MediOrbis account — all further care is handled there

  3. A specialist will review your case and share their opinion through MediOrbis

This service gives you additional insight into your condition, but it doesn't replace your current care. Always talk to your primary practitioner before making any changes to your treatment plan.
