The length of your consultation may vary on the type of visit you request:

  • On-demand (as soon as possible) consultations will vary in length based on specialty and service type. For example, a general practitioner visit will typically last 10 minutes. A mental health visit will typically be 50 minutes.

  • Scheduled appointments are typically booked in 10-minute time slots for general practitioner appointments. Specialty consultations, such as mental health visits, will state the appointment length at the time of booking.

Staying responsive during your visit

To make the most of your consultation, stay engaged with your physician as soon as your visit begins.

Here's what to keep in mind:

  • If you need to step away for any reason, such as collecting supporting documents for your consultation, let your provider know and confirm they can wait for you within the timeframe you communicated.

  • If you become unresponsive for 10 minutes or more without notice, your physician may need to end the consultation so they can help other patients who are waiting. Kindly note that if payment is required, you may still be charged for the consultation.

  • We encourage you to adjust your notification settings so you receive updates when there’s progress on your consultation request. See here for more support on this.
