Creating a Maple account for under-14 MSH International/Study insured policyholders

If the policyholder is under 14 years of age, their homestay parent or guardian will need to create their own account and add the policyholder as a dependent.

As a homestay parent or guardian of an insured minor (under 14 years old), please follow these steps to create a Maple account on their behalf:

  1. Visit getmaple.ca/msh to get started.

  2. Enter the MSH policy number and date of birth for the minor in your care. Uncheck “plan information belongs to me” and proceed to register for an account in your name.

  3. Create the Maple account using the homestay parent's details (name and date of birth).

  4. Apply account coverage to the minor in your care. Click “Patient Profiles” from the dashboard and add the minor as a patient. Then, in “Account Settings” under the “Coverage” tab, re-enter the minor's policy number and date of birth to apply their coverage.

The insured minor can now access their Maple coverage and connect with a practitioner on the platform using their covered visits.
