Understanding your specialist referral status

Got questions about your specialist referral? Here's what you need to know.

How do I know if my referral has been sent?

  1. Click Specialist Referrals in the main menu.

  2. Click View Details. You'll see one of the following statuses:

  • Received by specialist:Your referral has been sent

  • Contacting specialist: Our team is still working on finding a specialist and sending your referral

  • Requires more information: We need more information from you before we can send it. Follow the steps in the Accepting your specialist referral article, available here.

Specialist referral status

I see a redirection uploaded to my referral. Do I need to take any action?

If you see a redirection uploaded to your referral, our team is already on it—we aim to get it redirected within seven business days. If we need anything from you along the way, we'll send a message to your Maple inbox.

If the specialist reached out to you directly about the redirection, our Customer Support Team can help.

Once your referral has been redirected, the Specialist information section will be updated with the new clinic details. Click on the referral to find this section.

How do I know if there are updates on my referral?

Usually, the specialist clinic will contact you directly to book your appointment. If we receive any faxed updates about your referral, they'll be uploaded and you'll get a notification.
